    ٨١٤ - وعبدُ الأعْلَى بن عَبْدِ الأعْلَى، أبو محمدٍ السَامِي البَصْري (¬٦). سمع حُمَيْدًا الطَويلَ، وعُبَيد الله بن عُمَر العُمَري، ومَعْمَر بن رَاشِد، وسَعِيدًا الجُرَيْري، وسعيدَ بن أبي عَرُوبَة. روى عنه عَلِيُّ بنُ المَدِيْنِي، وعَيَّاش بن الوليد الرَقَّام، ونَصْرُ بنُ عَلِيٍّ الجَهْضَمِي، وغيرُهم، وأحاديثه كَثيرةٌ مَعْرُوفَةٌ.
