    ٧٨٥ - وأبو شَنْبَل (¬٢). جميعًا عُقَيْلِيَّان أَعْرَابِيَّان شَاعِرَان. فالأول: بضم الشين وبعدها باء مفتوحة منقوطة بواحدة، ثم ياء ساكنة معجمة باثنتين من تحتها، اسمه الخليج، وكان في أيام هارون الرشيد. والآخر: بفتح الشين والباء المعجمة بواحدة وبينهما نون ساكنة، اسمه حَمَل بن خَزْرَج، وكان في أيام المَهْدِي، وقد ذكرتهما وسُقْتُ بعض شِعْرهِما في «كتاب التلخيص» (¬٣).
