ابن المُسَيب (٠٠٠ - بعد ١٧٩ هـ = ٠٠٠ - بعد ٧٩٥ م) عبد الله بن المسيب بن زهير الضبي: من أمراء الدولة العباسية. ولاه الرشيد مصر سنة ١٧٦ هـ واستمر نحو ١٠ أشهر، وعزل، قأقام بها إلى أن وليها استخلافا عن عبد الملك بن صالح العباسي سنة ١٧٨ هـ نحو الشهرين، وصرف بعزل عبد الملك. ولزم بيته. واستخلفه ثانيا عبيد الله بن المهدي سنة ١٧٩ هـ وصرف عنها، فلزم داره إلى أن مات (٣) .
