    [٧٩] الأسودُ بنُ عوفِ بنِ عبدِ عوفِ بنِ عبدِ بنِ (¬٢) الحارثِ بنِ زُهْرةَ بنِ كِلابٍ القُرشِيُّ الزُّهريُّ (¬٣)، أخو عبدِ الرحمنِ بنِ عوفٍ، له صُحبةٌ، هاجَرَ قبلَ الفتحِ، وهو والدُ جابرِ بنِ الأسودِ الذي وَلِيَ المدينةَ لابنِ الزبيرِ، وهو الذي جلَد سعيدَ بنَ المُسيَّبِ في بيعةِ ابنِ الزبيرِ، وقد جرَى ذِكرُ جابرٍ هذا في "الموطَّأَ" في طلاقِ المُكرَهِ (¬٤).

    ٤٩٨ - الأسود بن عوف بن عبد عوف بن عبد الحارث بن زهرة بن كلاب القرشي الزهري: والد جابر، الذي ولي المدينة لابن الزبير، وأخو عبد الرحمن، أحد العشرة الآتين، وأمهما الشفاء ابنة عوف بن عبد بن الحارث، ممن أسلم يوم الفتح هو وأخوه عبد الله، ومات بالمدينة وله بها دار، قاله ابن سعد عن الواقدي، وقال ابن عبد البر، تبعا للزبير: هاجر قبل الفتح، وهو في الإصابة باختصار.
