١٢٨٩ - [أبو حفص الحداد] (١) أبو حفص الحداد النيسابوري، الشيخ الكبير، العارف الشهير، شيخ خراسان. كان كبير الشأن، صاحب أحوال وكرامات، وكان عجبا في الجود والسماحة، أنفذ مرة تسعة عشر ألف دينار تستفك بها أسارى، وبات وليس له عشاء. وكان يقول: ما استحق اسم السخاء من ذكر العطاء أو لمحه بقلبه. وقال ﵁: حسن أدب الظاهر عنوان حسن أدب الباطن، والفتوة أداء الإنصاف، وترك مطالبة الانتصاف. وقال ﵁: من لم يزن أفعاله وأحواله كل وقت بالكتاب والسنة، ولم يفهم خواطره .. فلا تعده في ديوان الرجال. توفي سنة خمس وستين ومائتين.
