مهنا بن عبد الحميد أبو شبل، ويقال: أبو سهل، البصري. روى عن حماد بن سلمة. وعنه: أحمد بن حنبل، وإسحاق بن منصور الكوسج، وعلي بن مسلم، وبندار، ونصر بن علي. قال أبو داود: مهنا أبو شبل ثقة. وقال أبو العباس الثقفي: حدثنا علي بن مسلم حدثنا مهنا أبو سهل، وكان ثقة. وقال أبو حاتم: مجهول، وقال بعضهم: دلني عليه يحيى بن سعيد وكناه بذلك، ثقة. •
