[روى عنه: أبو داود، والحسن بن سفيان، وأبو سعيد الأشج، وأبو زرعة الرازي، ومحمد بن صالح بن ذريح وغيرهم]. وقال أبو زرعة: كوفي ثقة. وقال مطين: مات سنة أربعين ومائتين. وذكره ابن حبان في الثقات. قلت: ثم حكى عن أبيه أحمد بن مصرف أنه يكنى أبا بكر. • د -
