    المستورد بن شداد بن عمرو بن حنبل بن الأحنف بن حبيب بن عمرو بن شيبان بن محارب بن دثار القرشي الفهري الحجازي، سكن الكوفة، له ولأبيه صحبة. روى عن: النبي ﵌، وعن أبيه. وعنه: أبو عبد الرحمن الحبلي، وقيس بن أبي حازم، ووقاص بن ربيعة، وعبد الكريم بن الحارث، وعلي بن رباح، وجبير بن نفير على خلاف فيه، وعبد الرحمن بن جبير، وهانئ بن معاوية الصدفي، ومعبد بن خالد في أثناء حديث حارثة بن وهب الخزاعي في ذكر الحوض. قلت: قال ابن يونس: يقال: توفي بالإسكندرية سنة خمس وأربعين. وقال مصعب الزبيري: مات بمصر في ولاية معاوية.
