قيس بن الحجاج بن خلي بن معدي كرب الكلاعي السلفي المصري، وقيل: الصنعاني من صنعاء دمشق. روى عن: حنش الصنعاني، وأبي عبد الرحمن الحبلي، وعدة. روى عنه: أخوه عبد الأعلى، والليث، وابن لهيعة، وضمام بن إسماعيل، وعبد الله بن عياش بن عباس القتباني، وخالد بن حميد المهري، وأبو شريح عبد الرحمن بن شريح، وعمرو بن الحارث، ونافع بن يزيد، وغيرهم. قال أبو حاتم: صالح. وذكره ابن حبان في الثقات. وقال ابن يونس: يقال: توفي سنة تسع وعشرين ومائة، وكان رجلا صالحا. له عند (ت) حديث ابن عباس: احفظ الله يحفظك الحديث. • خ صد -
