عبد الرحمن بن خباب السلمي، البصري. روى عن: النبي ﵌ في فضل عثمان حين جهز جيش العسرة. وعنه: فرقد أبو طلحة. قال الدوري: سئل عنه ابن معين، فقال: قد روى عن النبي ﵌. قيل له: هو ابن خباب بن الأرت؟ قال: أحسبه هو. قلت: قال أبو القاسم البغوي لما ذكر حكاية الدوري هذه: ليس هو كما ظن أبو زكريا؛ فإن هذا سلمي. كذا روي عن غير وجه، ولم يرو عن النبي ﵌ غير هذا الحديث. ولما ذكره ابن حبان في الصحابة، قال: إنه أنصاري؛ فإن صح هذا فهو سلمي - بفتح السين -. • س -
