    سعد بن عياض الثمالي الكوفي. روى عن: النبي ﵌ مرسلا وعن ابن مسعود. وعنه: أبو إسحاق السبيعي. ذكره ابن حبان في الثقات. له في السنن حديث واحد في ذراع الشاة. قلت: وله ذكر في صحيح البخاري تعليقا في تفسير النور. وذكر مسلم: أن أبا إسحاق تفرد بالرواية عنه. وقال ابن سعد: كان قليل الحديث. وقال البخاري: خرج فمات بأرض الروم. وقال ابن عبد البر: لا تصح له صحبة. وقال سعيد بن منصور: حدثنا أبو الأحوص، عن أبي إسحاق، عن سعيد بن عياض. . . فذكر أثرا. قال سعيد بن منصور: كذا قال. وإنما هو سعد - يعني بسكون العين -. • ع -
