٩٠٦٣ - مد: يزيد بن مرثد أبو عثمان الهمداني صنعاني صنعاء دمشق. روى عن: النبي ﷺ كل مرسلًا، وعن عبد الرحمن بن عوف، ومعاذ بن جبل، وأبي الدرداء، وأبي ذر كذلك، وعن شداد بن أوس، وعبادة بن الصلت، وواثلة بن الأسقع، وعائشة، وغيرهم. روى عنه: الوضين بن عطاء، وحاتم بن معدان، وعبد الرحمن بن يزيد بن جابر، وآخرون. قال أبو حاتم (¬٥): روى عن معاذ وأبي الدرداء مرسل. وذكره ابن حبان (¬٦) في الثقات. وقال الوليد بن مسلم عن ابن جابر: كان كثير البكاء. وقال سويد بن عبد العزيز عن الوضين بن عطاء: رأيت يزيد بن مرثد وفي يده رغيف وعرق يأكل، وكان طلب القضاء فلم يزل يفعل ذلك حتى تخلص.
