٧٨٧٢ - خ م د س: المسيب بن حزن (¬٢) ابن أبي وهب بن عمرو بن عائذ (¬٣) بن عمران بن مخزوم المخزومي القرشي أبو سعيد. روى عن: النبي ﷺ، وعن أبي، وأبي سفيان بن حرب. وعنه: ابنه سعيد. قال ابن لهيعة عن بكير بن الأشج عن سعيد: كان المسيب رجلًا تاجرًا، فذكر قصة. قلت: زعم الواقدي، ومصعب الزبيري أنه من مسلمة الفتح ولم يصنعا شيئًا، فقد ثبت في الصحيح أنه شهد الحديبية. وقال ابن يونس: قدم المسيب مصر لغزو إفريقية سنة سبع وعشرين. وفي الثقات لابن حبان (¬٤) في التابعين المسيب بن حزن وإن كان أراد هذا فقد وهم وهمًا قبيحًا. وعده الأزدي وغيره فيمن لم يرو عنه إلا واحد.
