٧٠٧٩ - تمييز: محمد بن عاصم الثقفي الأصبهاني العابد صاحب ذاك الجزء العالي. روى عن: سفيان بن عيينة سمع منه بعد التغير، وعن حسين بن علي الجعفي، ومحمد بن بشر العبدي، وأبي أسامة وطبقتهم. روى عنه: جعفر بن أحمد بن فارس، وإبراهيم بن أرومة، وعبد الله بن جعفر بن أحمد بن فارس وهو آخر من حدث عنه. توفي سنة اثنتين وستين ومائتين وهو متقدم الطبقة عن الذي قبله.
