٦٥٧٦ - س: قيس بن مروان وهو ابن أبي قيس الجعفي الكوفي. روى عن: عمر حديث: "من أراد أن يقرأ القرآن رطبًا" الحديث. وعنه: خيثمة بن عبد الرحمن، وعلقمة بن قيس، وعمارة بن عمير، وقرثع الضبي. ذكره ابن حبان (¬٤) في الثقات. قلت: وقال روى عنه حبيب كذا في النسخة وهي سقيمة ولعلها خيثمة تصحفت وقد أخرج حديثه أحمد عن أبي معاوية عن الأعمش عن خيثمة عن قيس بن مروان أنه أتى عمر فقال: جئت من الكوفة وتركت بها رجلًا يملي المصاحف عن ظهر تلبه يعني: عبد الله بن مسعود. وفي هذا تقدم زمان قيس هذا وقد تقدم في ترجمة الراوي عنه قرثع الضبي أن الخطيب ذكر أنه من المخضرمين.
