٥٨٦٤ - س: عمرو بن جاوان (¬٩) التميمي السعدي البصري ويقال عمر. روى عن: الأحنف بن قيس. وعنه: حصين بن عبد الرحمن، وروى سيف بن عمر التميمي عن [ابن أبي صعصعة] (¬١٠) عن عمرو بن جاوان عن جرير بن شرس في الأخبار قال ابن معين: كلهم يقولون عمر بن جاوان إلا أبو عوانة فإنه قال عمرو وقال علي بن عاصم: قلت لحصين: عمرو بن جاوان قال شيخ صحبي في السفينة وذكره ابن حبان (¬١١) في الثقات. قلت: وذكر البخاري (¬١٢) في تاريخه: أن هشيمًا قال عن حصين عمرو بن جاوان.
