٥٧٥٩ - ق: عمر بن سهل بن مروان المازني التميمي أبو حفص البصري سكن مكة. روى عن: أبي حمزة العطار، ومبارك بن فضالة، وبحر بن كنيز السقاء، وأبي الأشهب العطاردي، وغيرهم. وعنه: أبو بشر بكر بن خلف، والحميدي، وهارون الحمال، ومحمد بن عبد الله الزبيري، ومؤمل بن إهاب، وإسحاق بن الضيف، وابن وارة، ومحمد بن إسماعيل بن سالم الصائغ، وبشر بن موسى، وآخرون. ذكره ابن حبان (¬٤) في الثقات وقال: ربما أخطأ. له عنده حديث عن إسحاق بن الربيع. قلت. وقال العقيلي (¬٥): يخالف في حديثه.
