٤٢١٨ - س: عبد الله بن معية (¬٣) السَوَائِيٌّ العَامِرِيٌّ ويقال عبيد الله ويقال عبيد. قال ابن أبي حاتم عن أبيه: أدرك الجاهلية وقال غيره: ولد على عهد النبي ﷺ. روى عن: النبي ﷺ. روى عنه: إبراهيم بن ميسرة وأثنى عليه خيرًا وسعيد بن السائب. قال صالح بن أحمد عن أبيه: عبيد الله بن معية ليس بمشهور بالعلم. قال ابن أبي حاتم (¬٤): فذكرته لأبي فقال: هو كما قال. قلت: وقع اسمه في سنن النسائي عبد الله مكبرًا وكذلك ذكره المؤلف ها هنا وأما البخاري، ويعقوب بن سفيان، وغير واحد ممن بعدهم فذكروه في عبيد الله مصغرًا.
