    ٩٩٩ - عخ ٤: ثعلبة بن عباد العبدي (¬٢) البصري. روى عن: أبيه، وسمرة بن جندب. روى عنه: الأسود بن قيس. أخرجوا له حديثًا في صلاة الكسوف. قلت: ذكره ابن المديني في المجاهيل الذين يروي عنهم الأسود بن قيس، وأما الترمذي فصحح حديثه، وذكره ابن حبان (¬٣) في الثقات، وقال ابن حزم: مجهول. وتبعه ابن القطان، وكذا نقل ابن المواق عن العجلي.
