    ٥٣٦ - ق: إسماعيل بن حبان بن واقد الثَّقَفِيُّ أبو إسحاق القَطَّانُ الواسِطِيُّ. روى عن: عبد الله بن عاصم الحماني (¬٨)، وزكرياء بن عدي وغيرهم. وعنه: ابن ماجة، والبجيري، وابن أبي داود، وعلي بن عبد الله بن مبشر وعدة. ضبط ابن ماكولا أباه بالكسر والموحدة، وذكره ابن عساكر بعد إسماعيل بن حفص فهو عنده بالمثناة وهو وهم فيما أظن. قلت: تبعه عبد الغني في الكمال.
