٤٩٣ - ص: أسد بن عبد الله بن يزيد بن أسد بن كرز بن عامر البَجَلِيُّ. روى عن: أبيه، وعن يحيى بن عفيف الكندي. روى عنه: سعيد بن خيثم، وسلم بن قتيبة،وسليمان بن صالح سلمويه، وكان أميرًا على خراسان جوادًا ممدحًا. قال البخاري (¬١): لم يتابع في حديثه. أثنى عليه سعيد بن خثيم خبرًا، وقال ابن عدي (¬٢): معروف بهذا الحديث وما أظن له غير هذا إلا الشيء اليسير وله أخبار تروى عنه فأما المسند من أخباره فهذا الذي ذكرته يعرف به. قال خليفة (¬٣): مات أسد سنة (١٢٠). قلت: وذكره ابن حبان (¬٤) في الثقات فقال: يروي المراسيل، وذكره الدولابي والعقيلي (¬٥) في الضعفاء.
