[٨٨٨٩] (د) أبو المختار الأسدي الكوفي، قيل: اسمه سفيان بن المختار، وقيل: سفيان بن أبي حبيبة، وقيل: عبد الله (¬١). روى عن ابن أبي أوفى "ساقي القوم آخرهم شُرْبًا" (¬٢). وعنه: شعبة، وقيس بن الربيع، وأبو مالك النخعي. وقال البخاري: قال ابن المبارك: عن شعبة، عن المختار، ولا يصح (¬٣). وقال ابن المديني: لم يرو عنه غير شعبة (¬٤). وذكره ابن حبان (¬٥) في "الثقات" (¬٦).
