    [٧٣٥٨] (د س ق) مَهْدِي بن حرب العبدي - وهو مهدي بن أبي مهدي الهَجَري (¬٩) -. روى عن: عكرمة مولى ابن عبَّاس.وعنه: حَوْشَب بن عَقِيل، وأبو (¬١) عُبَيدة عبد المؤمن بن عبد الله السَّدُوسي. قال الحسين بن الحسن الرَّازي: قلت لابن معين: مهدي الهَجَري؟ قال: لا أعرفه (¬٢). وذكره ابن حِبَّان في "الثِّقات" (¬٣). قلت نقل ابن أبي حاتم، عن ابن الجُنَيد، عن ابن معين مثل ما نقل الرَّازي (¬٤). وصحَّح ابن خزيمة حديثه (¬٥). ونقل البخاري عن ابن مهدي أنَّه نسبه محاربيًّا (¬٦)، وهو كذلك في مسند أحمد (¬٧). وقال ابن حزم: مهدي بن هلال الهَجَري مجهول (¬٨). فلعلَّه آخر، أو "هلال" وَهْمٌ (¬٩).
