[٧٢٧٩] (تمييز) المُفضَّل بن عبد الله - ويقال: ابن عبيد الله - الحَبَطي (¬٢) اليَرْبُوعي البصري. سكن بغداد (¬٣). روى عن: داود بن أبي هند، وإسماعيل بن مُسْلِم، وعمر بن عامر السُّلَمي. وعنه: أبو مَعْمَر القَطِيعي، ومحمد بن عبد الله المُخَرِّمِي. قال الدُّوري، عن ابن معين: ليس بشيء (¬٤). وقال أبو حاتم: شيخ، بصري محلُّه الصِّدق (¬٥). وذكره ابن حِبَّان في "الثِّقات" (¬٦). وقال الخطيب: كان صدوقًا (¬٧).
