[٥٩٩٤] (تمييز) لَيث بن عاصم بن العَلَاء بن مُغيث بن الحارث بن عَامر الخَولَانيّ، ثم الحُدَادِيّ (¬٣)، أبو الحسن المِصرِيّ. إمام الجامع بمصر (¬٤). روى عن: الحسن بن ثَوبَان. وعنه: إدريس بن يحيى الخَولَانيّ، وعبد الرحمن بن أبي السَّمْح، وعبد الله بن وَهْب. ذكره ابن حبان في "الثقات" (¬٥). وقال ابن يونس: توفي في صفر سنة اثنتين وثمانين ومائة (¬٦).قال: وهو أخو أبي رَحْب العَلَاء بن عاصم (¬١). وقال غيره (¬٢): كان مولده سنة ثلاثين ومائة.
