[٥٥٤٤] (س) العلاءُ بنُ عُصَيْم الجُعفي، أبو عبدِ الله الكوفي المؤذِّن. روى عن: ابنِ أَبْجَر، وزُهَير بنِ معاوية، وأبي زُبَيْد، وأبي الأَحْوَص وحماد بنِ زَيد. وعنه: علي بنُ المديني، وأحمد بنُ سَعيد الرِّباطي، وأبو بكر بنُ أبي شيبة، ورجاء بنُ محمد العُذْري، وعبدُ الله الدَّارِمي. ذكره ابنُ حبان في "الثقات"، وقال: مات سنة خمس ومئتين (¬٥). وقال الحضرمي: مات سنة ثمان (¬٦).قلت: وذكر ابنُ خَلَفون أن ابنَ نُمَير وثقه.
