    [٢٩٣٩] (س) شَقِيق بن ثَوْر بن عُفَير بن زُهَير بن كَعْب بن عَمْرو بن سَدُوس السَّدُوسيُّ، أبو الفضل البصريُّ. روى عن: أبيه، وعُثمان، وعليٍّ، ومُعاوية.وعنه: خَلَّاد بن عبد الرَّحمن الصَنعانيُّ، وأبو مَسْلَمة سعيد بن يزيد، وأبو وائل شَقِيق بن سَلَمة - وهو من أقرانه -، وغيرهم. وكان رئيس بَكْر بن وائل، وكانت رايتُهم معه يوم الجَمَل، وشَهِد مع عليٍّ صِفِّين، ثم قَدِم على مُعاوية في خلافته (¬١). ذكره ابن حِبَّان في "الثقات" (¬٢). وحكى الأصمعيُّ أن الأَحْنَف لمَّا نُعِي إليه شَقِيق بن ثَوْر شَقَّ عليه، وقال: كان رجلًا حَلِيمًا (¬٣). قال ابنُ حِبَّان: مات سنة أربع وسِتِّين بعد يزيد بن مُعَاوية (¬٤).
