[٢٥٦٤] (م ت س ق) سُفيان بن عبد الله بن ربيعة بن الحارث الثَّقفيُّ، ويقال: سفيان بن عبد الله بن حُطَيط أبو عَمْرو، ويقال: أبو عَمْرة الطَّائفيُّ؛ له صحبة، وكان عامل عمر على الطَّائف. روى عن: النبي ﷺ، وعن: عمر. وعنه: أبناؤه: عاصم وعبد الله وعَلْقَمة وعَمْرو وأبو الحَكَم، وابن ابنه محمَّد، ويقال: محمود بن أبي سُوَيد بن سُفيان وعبد الرَّحمن، ويقال: محمَّد بن عبد الرَّحمن بن ماعز، وهشام بن عُروة مرسل. قلتُ: وقال العَسْكَرِيُّ: سفيان بن عبد الله بن ربيعة ربيعة بن الحارث بن مالك بن حُطَيط بن جُشَم؛ فكأن من قال فيه سفيان بن عبد الله بن حُطَيط نسب عبد الله إلى جدِّه الأعلى.
