    [١٦٣٤] (تمييز) حميد بن عبد الرحمن بن حميد بن عبد الرحمن بن عوف، حفيد الذي بعده (¬٨).حكى عن والده وغيره. قال الزبير بن بكار: كان من أشراف أهل المدينة وفضلائهم (¬١)، ثم حكى عن محمد بن الضحاك قال: وقع بين بني عبد الرحمن بن عوف وبني طلحة شرٌ، فأراد بنو عبد الرحمن من حميد هذا أن ينصرهم. فقال: نعم والله لأبينن لهم خبر طلحة. قيل له: فماذا؟ قال: في شجته التي أصيب بها يوم أحد، وفي إصبعه التي قطعت. فعجبوا منه، فقال: وأي شيء ظننتم أني أقول لطلحة؟ وكان مزّاحًا.
