    [١٠١٢] (تمييز) جَعْفَر بن مُحمَّد الوَاسِطِيّ، الورَّاق، نزيل (¬٥) بَغْدَاد. روى عن: عَمْرِو بن حَمَّاد بن طلحة، ويعلى بن عبيد، وخَالِد بن مخلد، والمثنى بن معَاذ، وعُثْمَان بن الهيثم، وعدَّة. وعنه: ابن أبي دَاوُد، والمحاملي، وابن مخلد، وإِبْرَاهِيم بن مُحمَّد نفطُويَه، وإسْمَاعِيل الصّفَّار، وَغَيْرُهُم.قَالَ الخطيب: "كَان ثِقَةً، قَرَأْتُ بخَطِّ مُحمَّد بن مخْلَد: سنة خمس وسِتِّين ومائَتَيْن؛ فيها مَات جَعْفَر بن مُحمَّد الورّاق المفلُوج، في شهر ربيع الأول" (¬١).
