محمد بن يزيد بن محمد بن عَبد الصمد أبو الحسن الهاشمي مولاهم الدمشقي. سمع: أباه، وسليمان بن بنت شرحبيل، وصفوان بن صالح، وموسى بن أيوب النصيبي، وأبا نعيم، وعدة. وعنه: سبطه عدي بن يعقوب، وجعفر بن محمد العدبسي، وأبو عُمر بن فضالة، ومظفر بن حاجب الفرغاني، وأبو أحمد بن الناصح، والطَّبراني. قال الذَّهبي: الإمام .. وعندي جزء لطيف له. وقال: مات سنة تسع وتسعين ومئتين.
