محمد بن هارون بن عيسى بن إبراهيم بن عيسى بن أبي جعفر المنصور أبو إسحاق، يعرف بابن برية. حدَّث عن: السرى بن عاصم، ومحمد بن مهاجر أخى حنيف، ويعقوب بن سواك وأحمد بن منصور الرّمادي، وأبي النضر إسماعيل بن عَبد الله العجلي، وعبَّاس بن عَبد الله الترقفي.روى عنه: ابن أخيه على بن محمد بن هارون، وإسماعيل بن على الخطبي، وعَبد العزيز بن جعفر الحرقي، وأبو الحسن بن لؤلؤ، وغيرهم. قال الدَّارقطني: محمد ابن بريه الهاشمي لا شيء. وقال الخطيب: في حديثه مناكير كثيرة.
