    محمد بن سهل بن الصباح أبو جعفر الصفار. عن: أبي مسعود. ويروي عن: حميد بن مسعدة، وعَمرو بن علي، وسَلمة، وعَبد الله بن عُمر. قال أبو الشَّيخ: وكان معدَّلًا، أروى الناس عن أبي مسعود، وعنده المسند، والمصنفات، وكان أبو مسعود موجبا له، عرض علينا يوما مسند ابن عُمر بخط أبي مسعود كتبه له. وقال: توفي سنة ثلاث عشرة وثلاثمائة.
