محمد بن داود بن أسلم أبو عَبد الله المصري. الصدفي مولاهم المصري. عن: أبي شريك يحيى بن يزيد المرادي، ومحمد بن رمح، وجماعة. وعنه: حمزة الكناني، والطَّبراني. قال الذَّهبي: توفي سنة ٧١ في ربيع أول. "تاريخ الإسلام" وفيات (٢٩٧ - ص: ٢٦٧). وقال الحافظ ابن حجر في "لسان الميزان" (٦/ ٣٠٠): (اليسع بن محمد البيهسي. قال ابن يونس: حدث عنه: محمد بن داود بن أسلم كانت في أحاديثه مناكير، ما أدري منه أو ممن حدث عنه. قلت: أظنه الذي ذكره الأزدي). *
