    محمد بن حبَّان أبو بكر الباهلي * (٥٤٢٦). ترجمه الذَّهبي في "السير" (١٤/ ٩٣) فقال: محمد بن حبَّان بن الأزهر المسند العُمر المحدِّث أبو بكر العَبدي البصري القطان. حدَّث عن: أبي عاصم النبيل، وعَمرو بن مرزوق، وغيرهما. حدَّث عنه: أبو أحمد بن عدي، وأبو بكر الجعابب، والقاضي الذهلي، وأبو بكر الإسماعيلي، وعُمر بن محمد بن سبنك، وجماعة سوى هؤلاء ممن أخذوا عنه ببغداد. ضعفه محمد بن علي الصوري الحافظُ، وكان قد نزل بغداد. قال ابن سبنك: أول ما كتبت سنة ثلاث مئة عن ابن حبَّان ومات سنة إحدى وثلاث مئة. قُلتُ: جاوز مئة عام فيما أرى. *
