    محمد بن أحمد بن الفرج أبو بكر الأبلي. حدَّث عن: سفيان بن محمد المصيصي، وأحمد بن محمد بن عُمر اليمامي. روى عنه: أبو بكر بن الجعابي، ومحمد بن حبَّان البستي.قال الخطيب: أخبرنا أبو سعيد الحسن بن محمد بن عَبد الله بن حسنويه الكاتب بأصبهان قال نا القاضي أبو بكر محمد بن عُمر بن سالم الحافظُ قال: حدَّثني أبو بكر محمد ابن أحمد بن الفرج البغدادي بالأبلة قال نا سفيان بن محمد المصيصي قال نا هشيم بن بشير عن يونس بن عُبيد عن الحسن عن أنس قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: من كرامتي أني ولدت مختونًا، ولم ير أحد سوأتي. قال المؤلف: لم يروه فيما يقال عن هشيم، وتفرد به سفيان بن محمد.
