    عُمر بن عَبد الله بن الحسن بن حفص الهمداني. يروي عن: الأشج، وحميد بن مسعدة، وعُمر بن علي. روى عنه: أبو الشَّيخ، وجماعة. قال أبو نُعيم: كان شيخ البلد، وصاحب مسائل القاضي، وكان رئيسًا. وقال: توفي في جمادى الأولى سنة ثمان وثلاثمائة. "أخبار أصبهان" (٢/ ٤١٨).*
