    عقبة بن المغيرة الشيباني. قال ابن أبي حاتم: عقبة بن المغيرة، أبو العلاء الشيباني. سمع: إسحاق بن أبي إسحاق. روى عنه: محمد بن عَبد الله بن نمير، وأبو سعيد، وعثمان، ومحمد بن عقبة السدوسي، سمعت أبي يقول ذلك. "الجرح والتعديل" (٦/ ٣١٦). وترجمه ابن حبَّان في "الثقات" (٨/ ٥٠٠): عقبة بن المغيرة، أبو العلاء الشيباني، من أهل الكوفة. يروي عن: أبي إسحاق السبيعي. روى عنه: محمد بن عقبة السدوسي. قُلتُ: وعنه في "الأوسط" (برقم: ٢٣٨٤٩): (الصلت بن مسعود). وقال الشَّيخ في "السلسلة الضَّعيفة" (برقم: ٦٠٣٥): صدوق إن شاء الله.*
