    عقبة بن سنان الكاتب الفزاري. روى عنه: حجاج بن محمد الأعور كلام أكتم بن صيفى. قال حجاج عن عقبة بن سنان: قال أكثم بن صيفى: ليس للمختال في حسن الثناء نصيب. قال إبراهيم بن عَبد الله الجنيد: قُلتُ ليحيى بن معين: حجاج بن محمد عن عقبة بن سنان من عقبة هذا قال: هذا عقبة بن سنان كان كاتبًا ببغداد. وقال: حجاج أعطاني عقبة كتاب أخذه من بن شبث عن عَمرو بن عَبد ثم قال يحيى: أيش عندك، قُلتُ: حجاج عن عقبة بن سنان الكلام أكثم بن صيفى، قال: من حدَّثكم، قُلتُ: حدَّثنا به سنيد"تاريخ بغداد" (١٢/ ٢٦٥). *
