    عُبيد بن محمد الكشوري الصنعاني. هو: عَبد الله بن محمد، ويقال له: عُبيد الكشوري أبو محمد الصنعاني. حدَّث عن: عَبد الله بن أبي غسان، وبكر بن الشرود، ومحمد بن عُمر السمسار، وعَبد الحميد بن صبيح، ولم يلحق عَبد الرّزاق. حدَّث عنه: خيثمة الأطرابلسي، ومحمد بن أحمد بن مسعود البذشي، وأبو القاسم الطَّبراني، ومحمد بن محمد بن حمزة الجمال، وآخرون من الرّحالين. قال الذَّهبي: المحدِّث العالم المصنف أبو محمد … ، وكان يقال له: تاريخ اليمن. قال أبو يعلى الخليلي: هو عالم حافظ له مصنفات مات سنة ثمان وثمانين. وقال غيره: بل مات في سنة أربع وثمانين ومئتين."السير" (١٣/ ٣٤٩). *
