    عَبد الملك بن سفيان وقيل: ابن يسار؛ وهو أصح الثقفي. وحدَّث عن: أبي أميه يحمد الشعباني. روى عنه: مطر بن العلاء الفزاري. قال أبو الحسن بن سميع: عَبد الملك بن يسار الثقفي، وذكره في الطبقة الرّابعة. قال أبو نصر الحافظُ قال: أما يسار أوله ياء معجمة باثنتين من تحتها وسين مهملة فهو عَبد الملك بن يسار الثقفي عن أبي أميه الشعباني، وكان قد أدرك الجاهلية. روى عنه: مطر بن العلاء الفزاري.قال ابن أبي حاتم: روى عنه: سليمان بن يسار، سمعت أبى يقول ذلك.
