    شعيث مطير. قال ابن أبي حاتم: شعيث بن مطير. روى عن: أبيه. روى عنه: معدى بن سليمان صاحب الطعام، سمعت أبي يقول ذلك. نا عَبد الرّحمن قال سألت أبي عنه فقال: شعيث، ومطير أعرابيان كانا يكونان في بعض قرى المدينة. نا عَبد الرّحمن نا أبي نا نصر بن على أخبرني معدى بن سليمان قال: أتيتمطيرًا لأسأله عن حديث ذي اليدين فإذا شيخ كبير لا ينقد لحديث من الكبر فقال له ابنه شعيث بن مطير بلى يا أبة حدَّثتني إن ذا اليدين لقيك بذي خشب فحدَّثك أن رسول الله ﷺ فقرأ عليه الحديث.
