روْح بن حاتم بن قبيصة بن المهلب بن أبي صفرة المهلبي الأمير أبو حاتم. أحد الأجواد، والأبطال ولي ولايات جليلة للسفاح، والمنصور وغيرهما، ولي السند ثم البصرة، وكان يزيد بن حاتم أمير المغرب فمات فبعث الرّشيد روْحًا على المغرب فقدمها سنة إحدى وسبعين، فوليها ثلاث سنين، ومات في رمضان سنة أربع فدفن مع أخيه بالقيروان. قُلتُ: وهو غير صاحبنا -المراد-، وان اشتركا في الاسم، واسم الأب والكنية، والبلد. قال سليمان بن أحمد بن أيوب الطَّبراني: حدَّثنا روْح بن حاتم أبو حاتم البغدادي حدَّثنا محمد بن زنبور.*
