إسماعيل بن أبي الحكيم كاتب عُمر بن عَبد العزيز. قال ابن أبي حاتم: إسماعيل بن أبي حكيم مولى عثمان بن عفان مديني. روى عن: القاسم بن محمد، وعُمر بن عَبد العزيز، وعُبيدة بن سفيان الحضرمي، وسعيد بن المسيب، وسعيد بن مرجانة. روى عنه: مالك، ويحيى بن سعيد الأنصاري، ومحمد بن إسحاق، وعَبد الله ابن سعيد بن أبي هند سمعت أبي وأبا زرعة يقولان ذلك. قال أبو محمد: روى عنه: زُهير بن محمد. حدَّثنا عَبد الرّحمن قال: ذكره أبي عن إسحاق بن منصور عن يحيى بن معين قال: إسماعيل بن أبي حكيم صالح. قال: وسئل أبي عن إسماعيل بن أبي حكيم قال: يكتب حديثه كان عاملًالعُمر بن عَبد العزيز.
