أحمد بن محمد بن الجهم السمري. ترجمه الخطيب في "تاريخ" (٤/ ٤٠٣): أحمد بن محمد بن الجهم بن هارون السمري حدث عن: عَمرو بن على الفلاس، وأبي حاتم السجستاني، ومحمد بن أبي السرى الأزدي، ومقدم بن محمد بن يحيى المقدمي، ورجاء بن الجارود. روى عنه: أبو القاسم الطبراني، والقاضي أبو طاهر محمد بن أحمد بنعَبد الله الذهلي. وقال الحافظُ في "تبصير المنتبه": السمري … ، وبالكسر والتشديد بالفتح: محمد بن الجهم السمري مشهور، وابنه أحمد من شيوخ الطَّبراني. *
