أحمد بن عَبد الرحيم بن يزيد بن فصيل أبو عَبد الله الحوطي. سكن جبلة. روى عن: أبي المغيرة، وأبي اليمان، ومحمد بن مُصعب القرقساني، وعلي بن عيَّاش وجماعة. وعنه: أبو القاسم الطَّبراني، وجعفر بن محمد بن هشام، وجماعة. وصفه الذَّهبي بـ: المحدِّث. وقال: كان حيًّا في سنة تسع وسبعين. "السير" (١٣/ ١٥٣). *
