    أحمد بن خُليْد أبو عَبد الله سنان الحلبي. سمع: أبا نعيم وأبا اليمان، ويحيى الوُحَاظي، والحُمَيدي، ومحمد بن عيسى ابن الطباع، وزُهير بن عبَّاد، وطبقتهم. روى عنه: علي بن أحمد المصيصي، وأحمد بن مروان الدينوري، وأبو القاسم الطَّبراني، وآخرون.قال الذَّهبي: كان صاحب رحلة ومعرفة، وطال عُمره .. ، ما علمت به بأسًا. "سير أعلام النبلاء" (١٣/ ٤٨٩). قُلتُ: وذكره ابن حبَّان في "ثقاته" (٨/ ٥٣). وانظر: "تاريخ الإسلام" وفيات (٢٨١ - ص: ٧٠) وفيه: له رحلة واسعة، ومعرفة جيدة. قُلتُ: ووثقه الدَّارقطني. انظر: "الفصل للوصل" للخطيب (٢/ ٨٠٣). *
