٥٨٧ - محمد (¬١) بن محمد بن محمود، أبو منصور الماتريديّ. ويقال له: إمام الهدى. له كتاب «التوحيد»، وكتاب «المقالات»، وكتاب «رد أوائل الأدلة» للكعبي (¬٢)، والكعبي هذا من معتزلة بغداد، وكتاب «تأويلات القرآن» وهو كتاب لا يوازيه فيه كتاب، بل لا يدانيه شيء من تصانيف من سبقه في ذلك الباب، وله كتب شتى (¬٣). مات سنة ثلاث وثلاثين وثلاث مئة بعد وفاة أبي الحسن الأشعري بقليل، وقبره بسمرقند.
