    ٤٨٨ - محمد (¬١) بن أحمد بن محمود النسفي له (تعليقه) في الخلاف مشهورة. مات سنة أربع عشرة وأربع مئة. وكان زاهدا، ورعا، متعففا، فقيرا، قنوعا. يحكى: أنه بات ليلة مهموما من الضيقة وسوء الحال فوقع في خاطره فرع من فروع مذهبه، فأعجب به، فقام قائما يرقص في داره، ويقول: أين الملوك وأبناء الملوك؟ فسألته زوجته عن ذلك فأخبرها، فتعجبت. ومما أنشد لنفسه: شعر (¬٢) إقبل معاذير من يأتيك معتذرا … إن بر عندك فيما قال أو فجرا فقد أطاعك من أعطاك ظاهره … وقد أجلك من يعصيك مستترا
