    ٤٥٨ - القاسم (¬١) بن معن بن عبد الرحمن بن عبد الله بن مسعود الكوفي ولي القضاء بالكوفة بعد شريك بن عبد الله. وكان لا يأخذ أجرا، وهو أحد من قال له أبي حنيفة في نفر: أنتم مسارّ قلبي، وجلاء حزني. مات سنة خمس وسبعين ومئة. روى له أصحاب السّنن. روى عنه ابن مهدي. قال الطحاوي: وروى عنه محمد بن الحسن، وكان إماما في العربية، وقد حكى عنه الفرّاء (¬٢) غير شيء. وقيل له: أنت إمام في العربية، وإمام في الفقه، فأيهما أوسع، فقال: والله كتاب واحد من المكاتب لأبي حنيفة أكبر من العربية كلها.
